Artist : Bev Letard : A Follow up.......

'In many lives it is the beginnings that are most significant: the first steps, though seemingly effaced, leave their imprint on everything else that follows'

Lewis Mumford, American philosopher,writer,social commentator & architectural critic :1895-1990

So too, the imprint left upon Bev's style of painting by her Chinese Master teacher....who has become her personal friend and mentor - subsequently Bev has been acknowledged by the acclaimed artist in his 3rd book which has just been published.

Koi fish remain Bev's favourite subject ...to quote:

The koi fish, with their amazing colours, grace of movement and integration with the water they swim in has been a great challenge to capture with paint.

They are painted with a limited palette of the three primary colours of red, yellow and blue only, and together these basic colours produce images that echo the spirit and personality of the natural world around us.

However.. Bev is resolute in her drive to paint all that holds true.........to form,colour and shape...and ventures oft away from the world of watercolours to capture the more heady, more dramatic - personified above in 'Cloe' - an acrylic (460mm x 600mm)...and collectively in 'Before the curtain rises' - mixed media (acrylic with the skirt in tulle - 460mm x 600mm)

The watercolours posted below, embue all that Bev holds dear....colourful movement - herewith 'Chrysanthemum Delight' (560mm x 370mm);
