SmART ART - POST EXHIBITION
What an array of gorgeous colour
and light as my home bulged at the seams with the work of our talented local artists....these photos are of the exhibition set up.
The hanging/positioning of the work was a challenging undertaking - all worth the effort in the end!!
One of the paintings sold at the exhibition was by Bev Letard - photo above this one of Brian Wastie's digital mixed media - of The Little Ballet Dancer , after a bronze sculpture by Degas...a romantic sale to say the least - bought as a surprise for his wife by one of the 'hubby's' brought along to the cocktail evening....
Maddy Finlay's Blue Hydrangeas (pictured in a photo below) was sold on the second day of the Exhibition...and now hangs very proudly in a Sheffield Beach home...
An impressive piece of Metal art by Gift - "Music Unheard Of" was sold on the opening night - and now hangs very proudly above a Walnut baby Grand Piano - most befitting!!
Two of AnnMaree Harrington's Vegetable Patch Ladies - right top and bottom -also sold on the opening night and will be making their way...."Down Under"!!
Also sold on this exhibition were: June Burgess' beautiful watercolours, Olde English Rose I & II which had been mounted and framed in classic French style!!
Colleen Barker's fresh, colourful oils - Bicycle I and II were amongst the sales, as was Barbyra Smith's oil of Boat on the Beach ...which is being "shipped off' to the Seychelles!!...and Maddy Finlay's other oil - Night Lights which had mounted and framed behind glass for depth.
Jozi's three musician oils were also sold, have been subsequently framed and hung - taking pride of place on a high, narrow wall in one of our Durban North homes!!
Another seascape to sell was that of Cheryl Cawdron's 'fresh paletted' oil - Umhlanga Rocks- which was another to sell on the eve of the exhibition.
